ACEP17 Scientific Assembly

Walking into the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the first time can seem daunting in its own right. Walking into the 473,000 square foot convention center when it’s hosting what is described as...the largest and most prestigious Emergency Medicine conference in the world,”: potentially overwhelming...but with a tinge of excitement. With providers, nurses, medical students and vendors abound, the ACEP 2017 Scientific Assembly didn’t waste a single square foot of available space. The entire convention center was filled to the brim with eager Emergency Medicine professionals ready to learn, network and recommit to what matters most to them: patient care.

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) hosts an annual scientific assembly which is considered to be the largest and most prestigious Emergency Medicine conference in the world. Since the first scientific assembly in 1969, the focus of this conference has been assisting emergency medical professionals in developing essential practice management tools and Continuing Medical Education (CME), while also providing a plethora of networking opportunities.

Physicians, nurses, PA’s, techs and students are granted access to various workshops, labs, and forums. This year’s keynote speaker, journalistic icon Bob Woodward, kicked-off the conference with a thought-provoking opening session. Throughout the rest of the conference, the ACEP Scientific Assembly aimed to leave all attendees feeling energized and with a renewed commitment to patient care: something we plan to carry with us until ACEP 2018.

Helping People, Help People

Members of the PhysAssist Scribes Team talking with ACEP Scientific Assembly Attendees

At PhysAssist Scribes, we believe that every decision we make has a patient behind it. While we directly assist providers, we always keep patient’s lives and well-being in mind. That’s why our mission is Helping People Help People; our scribes help providers and those providers help patients. Our entire company embodies this mantra and it serves as a driving factor behind our attendance at the ACEP Scientific Assemblies since 2005.

Everything we do revolves around people. So naturally, personal connections are vitally important to every scribe program we run. At ACEP17, we had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with some of our current clients in attendance. Along with taking a moment to celebrate our partnership, we had the chance to leverage conversations and learn about what is important to them. From making our clients feel more valued, to further developing our Alumni Network for former scribes, we learned how we can continue to grow and develop a greater understanding about what is impacting the industry as a whole. As leaders in the medical scribe business, it is crucial that we have a pulse on every aspect of our industry and the impact it has on how continue to drive change within this community.

ACEP18 - See you there!

Though we are closing the chapter on another successful ACEP conference, we are excitedly looking ahead to building an even better experience for next year. ACEP18 will be hosted at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego California, from Oct 1-4. Our team has already booked our booth and planning is currently underway. We look forward to seeing you there!
