How to Be Here Now  - Winter 18’ Leadership Conference Recap

Posted by Peggy Fredrickson on Feb 12, 2018 8:00:00 AM

Why we do what we do

PhysAssist Scribes believes in the importance of investing in each employee. We strive to offer leadership growth in both their professional and personal lives. Over the years, it has become clear that our employees lead happier lives if they feel engaged, a sense of project ownership, and fulfilled in their careers. This year’s conference theme is Be Here Now , meaning we commit to approaching each moment fully focused and fully connected. As one of five of our commitment statements, we found it vital to teach the attendees how to be fully engaged in the moment, not just for their career development but also for their personal fulfillment. With the commitment to drive change, another one of our commitment statements, in mind we work to drive change in our employee's careers and personal development by offering the tools that will groom them to be experts in their field. By providing everything from industry news on our social channels, an in-house leadership library, and our bi-annual leadership conference, we utilize every opportunity to grow our employee’s industry knowledge bank, develop thought leadership, and garner a deeper understanding of career fulfillment.

CELEBRATING two EXTRAORDINARY INDIVIDUALS FOR AMAZING WORK!

Our medical scribes are bright, hardworking and dedicated to doing the best that they can—and then they do even more! Many of them balance school with studying for the MCATs and families, just to name a few of their grueling responsibilities. We understand that each and every one of them goes above and beyond to perform, even when the emergency department is in overdrive.

By my Junior year of college these questions were becoming more important as I realized I was going to need a real job in about a year, so I decided to look for an internship.

Ambition, passion and hard work truly pay off

This autumn, the North Texas Ace Foundation (NTAF) held the Rebecca Keel Memorial Scholarship in honor of Rebecca Keel, a former PhysAssist Scribe who tragically lost her life in 2015. Becky was a true leader. She was passionate, adventurous, bright and a huge dreamer who hoped to make the world a better place. (Click here to read more about Becky.)

More than 70 incredibly driven, remarkable individuals applied for the scholarship, from which one shining star was selected to receive the $5,000 award: Priya Patel, a junior attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Not only is Priya an exceptional student, she is tireless, partaking in a myriad of activities from volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to the North Texas Food Bank to taking classical Indian dancing classes! Additionally, Priya works as a medical scribe for the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman team in Dallas.
