CELEBRATING 2 EXTRAORDINARY INDIVIDUALS FOR AMAZING WORK!

Our medical scribes are bright, hardworking and dedicated to doing the best that they can—and then they do even more! Many of them balance school with studying for the MCATs and families, just to name a few of their grueling of responsibilities. We understand that each and every one of them goes above and beyond to perform, even when the emergency department is in overdrive.

CHIEF SCRIBES, LEAD TRAINERS & CORPORATE TAKE ON LEADERSHIP TRAINING (& FUN!)

From August 16 to 17, 2016, we were pleased to bring together more than 100 individuals from across the nation for the biannual PhysAssist Scribes Leadership Conference. Chief Scribes, Lead and Head Trainers, as well as new and tenured  corporate employees, gathered at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, TX, for an exciting event.

What started in 2012 as a small group of Chief Scribes meeting with home office members for team building and training development has now turned into a large-scale trade-show style forum for collaboration, sharing of ideas and leadership training.

Implementing 30+ Scribe Programs Across the Country

Growing a new scribe program from the bottom-up is no simple feat, especially when nearly 35 are being implemented simultaneously. At PhysAssist Scribes, we're specialists at implementing a scribe program and always turn to our experts to help—our Certified Trainer Scribes (CTS). CTSs are seasoned medical scribes who travel to our newest locations to teach EMR navigation, proper charting and generally the ins-and-outs of the emergency department. They also help ED physicians to acclimate working with scribes in order to maximize efficiency during their shifts.

Posted by Sophie Penkrat on Mar 22, 2016 9:30:00 AM

Physassist scribes LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE winter 2016

Biggest and Best One YET!

In 2012, a small group of PhysAssist Chief Scribes met with home office members to work on team building and training development. In no time at all, the PhysAssist Scribes Leadership Conference grew into a large-scale event, with our biggest and most successful one yet held from January 6 to 7, 2016.

Our headquarters hosted 52 Chief Scribes, 50 new and tenured employees, 15 Lead and Head Trainers and one Scribe of the Year in a huge leadership development event featuring workshops, lectures, amazing PhysAssist giveaways, and of course, lots of fun at the Hurst Conference Center, TX.

Posted by Cameron Cushman on Oct 13, 2015 8:00:00 AM

This month we will feature several of our Certified Trainer Scribes (CTS) and discuss their experience as traveling scribes who help set up programs at our newest sites across the country. We’ve asked each of them to give us their perspective on what its like to be a PhysAssist CTS.

Today’s post features Farhan Sahawneh, one our CTSs who is originally from Dallas and is currently serving as a CTS in Alabama. He has previously worked as a PhysAssist CTS in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.

We Are Lead Trainers

Posted by Danielle Johnson on Aug 13, 2015 8:00:00 AM

It takes spontaneity. It takes drive. It takes late nights followed by early mornings. Phone calls. Emails. Followed by flights, rental cars, and handshakes. We don’t fear change, but embrace and welcome it as it comes.  We have coffee at all times and a wanderlust soul to help absorb everything that comes with the job.

A Day in the Life of a CTS: Alert? Sure! Oriented? Maybe Not.

Posted by Hannah Norton on May 15, 2015 8:00:00 AM

I jolt awake to the sound of my alarm going off. As I blearily stare at my screen, I groan at the fact that 04:45 seems to be the time. The only reason I know that’s AM and not PM is because my phone has been set on military time since I became a scribe – it helps when I’m charting late at night and apparently can’t do math.

As I stare around me, it takes a second to remember where I am and why I’m required to be up before the sun even makes an appearance. Oh yeah, I have a shift today. I've been working a lot recently, but I hold on to the fact that my trainee is on-track and the providers are really enjoying scribes.
